The Book of Genesis, the first book of the Bible, narrates the origins of the world and humanity, divided into primeval history (chapters 1–11) and patriarchal history (chapters 12–50). It covers creation, the fall, the flood, and the covenantal calling of Abraham and his descendants—Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph—to bring blessing to the world.
