Youth Programs
Our Sunday School classes take place weekly at 10:15 A.M. directly following the church service. In addition to lessons and crafts, the Sunday School children also participate in the Kids Kingdom Choir, which sings in church a few times throughout the year and puts on the annual Christmas program. There is also a special egg hunt for the Sunday School kids on Easter morning.
Vacation Bible School
Coming this summer June 22-26, 2026
Vacation Bible School (VBS) is held annually each summer at St. John and is a week of religious education, music, games, crafts, and skits for children. There is a new theme every year that includes engaging activities to teach Bible stories and Christian values in a fun and memorable environment. VBS is also an outreach opportunity to connect with local families and foster a sense of spiritual growth and community for the children, youth group, and volunteers.
The St. John Youth Group meets every Sunday for a Bible Study following church. They also participate in the annual Christmas Program and assist with Vacation Bible School each summer. In 2025, they attended the National Youth Gathering in New Orleans and run various servant events and fundraisers throughout the year. The Youth Group goes skating, holds lock ins, and plans multiple social outings.
National Youth Gathering
July 2025
During the summer of 2025, five members of the St. John Youth Group attended the National Youth Gathering in New Orleans. Held every 3 years since 1980, the LCMS Youth Gathering provides thousands of youth and adults the opportunity to come together as a community of God’s people to be encouraged in their walk with Jesus Christ and learn about the Christian faith and their Lutheran identity.
